Author Spring is in the air and it’s time for a change – when you do your spring cleaning you might notice things look a bit worn or out of date. Not to worry – it’s easy to change the look of a room with just one or two strategically chosen items that will make everything look fresh and new.
If the bedroom is looking a bit tired you can change things by simply adding a colorful throw in a great texture or piling on an eclectic array of pillows in all shapes and sizes. Kids’ rooms can handle floor pillows and bean bag chairs while in a guest bedroom you might wish to consider a bed canopy.
Bed canopies are quite easy to install and add a touch of drama and elegance to any setting – transform your little girl’s room into a pretty princess castle with a dreamy bed canopy or create a romantic and private zone in the master bedroom with a lush burgundy or gold bed canopy. Bed canopies may actually be used in any room of the house and are especially nice on a porch or in a patio setting.
The bathrooms may need a bit of sparkle and cleaning alone might not do the trick. Experts recommend replacing shower curtains and bath mats at least once a year; fresh window panels and valances or new window curtains are another good idea. When replacing the shower curtain you may also wish to replace the shower curtain rod with a curved or double rod model – both offer unique advantages.
New bathroom hardware can really add sparkle to a mundane bathroom so look for robe hooks, towel bars and even drawer pulls and free-standing toilet tissue holders as easy ways to update a tired bathroom. Modern bathroom and shower faucets are another option, as is a new shower system.
